When we got Sally, it wasn't planned. She was a gift. She was a pain. She chewed everything she could get her teeth on, she peed on everything, she pooped on everything. Nothing was safe with her around. We joked and told the kids we were going to give her to someone who had the space for her that she could run. We talked about taking her to the dog park. The kids loved her. Sally was my companion during the day. I could carry on conversations with her and she never argued back. Well, sometimes she did. She rode with me everyday to get the kids. She loved car rides. She liked to run. We live off a main street and I cringed every time she got loose, she would run. Last night she got out by accident. Last night Sally died. Phil took her to the ER vet, but they couldn't help her, so she died in the arms of Emily, Jack and Phillip. Phillip and Jack buried her in the backyard in a space near the back fence that Jack had recently cleared. It's a nice spot, I can see flowers growing near it in the spring. This house is so quiet. All of us are torn up over the loss of Sally. She was part of us. She will be missed.

Poor little Sally Girl, you will be missed by all who knew you and your sloppy kisses...
